Project Description

ORIGINAL SITUATION

This business, a Battery Manufacturing Facility, approached us with their problem of inefficiencies and inaccuracies in monitoring production processes. Ultimately, this was because they relied on manual paper-based data collection methods.

THE CHALLENGE

Because of the paper-based data collection, the business was suffering with delays, errors, and difficulty in accessing real-time information for performance analysis.
They were experiencing a real lack of visibility into Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics, so couldn’t identify the production bottlenecks or opportunities for improvement.

OUR SOLUTION

We immediately implemented a paperless data collection system utilizing mobile devices and barcode scanning technology to capture production data in real-time.
Then, we integrated OEE software with production equipment to automatically collect and analyse data on machine availability, performance, and quality.
Additionally the team conducted employee training programs to ensure seamless transition to digital data collection methods and promote user adoption.

OUTCOME

The Battery Manufacturing Facility is now running with improved data accuracy and timelines doe to the elimination of paper-based inefficiencies and reduced data collection errors.
They now have real-time visibility into OEE metrics, enabling proactive identification and resolution of production bottlenecks.
Overall the equipment efficient is increased, with optimised equipment utilisation and productivity through continuous monitoring and analysis of OEE metrics.
This has facilitated data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence and cost savings.
